YES. The path is compacted earth with a thin layer of sand/grit. We have had many satisfied visitors with wheelchairs, as well as mobility scooters and pushchairs.

All children 2 years old or younger can visit the butterfly for free!

Visitors who are 15 years or under will be charged the children’s rate.

As the Butterfly House has a large number of delicate plants and animals parental supervision is required.

The length of peoples visits vary. The majority of our visitors stay for 60 to 90 minutes. Some stay all day. You can use your ticket all day so you can pop in and out as much as you wish.

The Butterfly House holds a collection of plants and animals from tropical countries across the world. To keep them comfortable the temperature is kept between 26⁰c and the low 30’s. There is no chance of sunburn as the structure drastically reduces UV rays.

Unfortunately not. All butterflies live their lives on the edge of exhaustion. A butterfly on a flower is frantically trying to collect enough fuel to survive. A butterfly that is resting needs to conserve as much energy as possible. Trying to pick them up causes them stress and can exhaust them so much that they don’t have the energy to feed.

YES, you are welcome to picnic on the lawned area in front of the Butterfly House.

YES. Heathers Café is right next to the entrance to the Butterfly House. Heathers was awarded 5 stars from North Somerset County Council and is a family friendly café that is popular with locals due to the quality of the food and friendly atmosphere.
